There could very well be a new, unannounced first-person shooter from Activision Blizzard in the works. That is if this LinkedIn profile is to be believed.
The aforementioned profile is that of game developer Kristopher Howl, who no longer works for ActiBlizz but did use to be employed therefrom 2012-202, reports GamesRadar. Howl's LinkedIn profile apparently mentions an "unannounced FPS PVP project (first-person shooter player vs. player, for the uninitiated) which he worked on while he was there.
As per his profile, his work involved "level, UX, Combat and Systems design, guiding new level building technology, aligning teams on the vision of the project, hiring, and designing gameplay systems." In short, he looks to be a pretty important member of the team.

Aside from that, there are additional tidbits on Howl's profile that could suggest something about the game's nature. He also mentioned that he was a former principal game designer for Overwatch 2. His responsibilities were "prototyping, hiring, and establishing a production-ready design pipeline for Hero Mode, co-op game modes, and encounters."
He was also a part of the team that worked on the original Overwatch. With these in hand, one can assume that the unannounced PvP FPS could very well be another hero-based team shooter, but there's still always the possibility that it could be something entirely different.
Either way, the unannounced project is likely still far from being revealed anytime soon. Activision Blizzard is deep in preparation for the eventual release of Overwatch 2, starting with its open beta release.

Not The First Time An 'Unannounced' Activision Blizzard Game Surfaced
For the unaware, this isn't the first time that an unannounced project from ActiBlizz surfaced ahead of time.
Back in January, the game, billed as a "brand-new survival game," is reportedly set in a new universe - the studio's first since Overwatch back in 2015. This was once again revealed early but in a different way: via a job posting, as reported by Polygon. The posting read:
"Blizzard is embarking on our next quest. We are going on a journey to a whole new universe, home to a brand-new surviva game for PC and console. A place full of heroes we have yet to meet, stories yet to be told, and aventures yet to be lived. A vast realm of possibility, waiting go be explored."
The game reportedly needs artists, level designers, and software engineers to join the development team. Its job posting also came with a piece of concept art that features what looks like a huntress, armed with an ax, tracking something or someone through a magical-looking forest. You can view the concept art on Blizzard's page.
Now, considering that it's called a survival game, this project is not likely to be the PvP FPS we just mentioned in this report. Until official details are shared, this game will be shrouded in mystery.
