GameNGuide, needless to say, is all about gaming. If you think all we focus on are games, may it be on console, mobile, or PC, think again. We also feature the people who play these games. YouTubers. Twitch streams. And, of course, the eSports pros.
This is why we have come up with a new series we would like to call ProFiles. ProFiles will focus solely on the gamers that have made a name for themselves in the industry, whether it is through professional gaming, streaming, or even a solid YouTube following.
For our first story, we put the spotlight on one Dota 2 player: Artour "Arteezy" Babaev.
ProFiles: Dota 2's Arteezy
Anyone who is into Dota 2 as an eSport would know who Arteezy is. However, his love for gaming did not start with the game. According to a report by Sportskeeda, Arteezy actually started with games such as the first Dota as well as Starcraft II.
Arteezy made his debut in 2013 and it was in January of the following year that he became part of a team called SADBOYS. Fellow Dota players Saahil "Universe" Arora and Clinton "Fear" Loomis, and former Heroes of Newerth players Peter "ppd" Dager and Ludwig "zai" Wåhlberg created the team with him.
By February, Evil Geniuses had taken over the SADBOYS. Things did not always go smoothly for Arteezy and Evil Geniuses, which led to the Dota 2 player being a part of Team Secret for sometime before rejoining Evil Geniuses by August 2015. He remains a part of the team as of press time.
He is known for playing the carry role for his team as well as pioneering "the 'farming mid' archetype, which the next generation of midlane players like Syed Sumail "SumaiL" Hassan and Amer "Miracle-" Al-Barkawi built upon," per Sportskeeda.
According to GosuGamers, Templar Assassin is Arteezy's most played hero. However, it is Bloodseeker who remains his mosts successful one.

Arteezy Has Not Won a Valve Tournament
The Sportskeeda report points out that, while he has yet to win a Valve tournament as of writing, Arteezy is easily one of the best Dota 2 players in the industry.
In fact, Arteezy became the second person in history to reach 9,000 Matchmaking Rating (MMR), according to an article by Red Bull.
While a first place finish at The International has evaded him thus far, he and Evil Geniuses managed to secure a third place finish in the tournament in 2014 and 2018.
Arteezy is also one of the more popular Dota 2 streamers. While he no longer streams regularly, fans and viewers still flock to his streams whenever he decides to do one. Sportskeeda credits his taste in music, personality, and overall talent and skills as factors that have contributed to the success of his streams.
