The official trailer for "Kingdom Hearts 4" dropped on Sunday and was pretty coy about the details. But eagle-eyed fans saw a tiny moment that led to speculations about the appearance of "Star Wars" properties in the popular game by Square Enix.
In the trailer, we see a slightly grown-up Sora, waking up from a dream. Strelizia, a character who was introduced in the mobile game "Kingdom Hearts: Union X," appears and tells Sora that he has been asleep for 7 days. She shows Sora the Quadratum, the world that was introduced in the secret ending of "Kingdom Hearts 3." We see Sora fighting a giant enemy before teasing a scene of Donald and Goofy inside a dark tunnel, greeted by a flaming figure, which is said to possibly be Hades from Disney's "Hercules."

'Kingdom Hearts IV' Trailer Features Lush Forest and... a Scout Walker?
In Sora's dream, we see a lush forest filled with redwood trees, which very much seemed like the forest moon of Endor from "Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi." While that idea may seem to be a bit of a stretch, fans noticed another detail that points out that this forest may indeed be set in the "Star Wars" universe, according to a report by GameSpot.
If you pause the video at 0:34, you may see a fleeting appearance of a foot of an AT-ST Scout Walker standing among the rocks and the stream. The Scout Walkers (also known as chicken walkers) were prominently featured in "Return of the Jedi." They were used by the troops of the Galactic Empire to attack the Rebels and the Ewoks during the Battle of Endor.
Will We See Sora Using The Force?
"Kingdom Hearts" is best known for its crossovers with well-known Disney characters and worlds. Kingdom Hearts 3 saw the appearance of many Disney characters from recent movies such as Frozen, Big Hero 6, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Tangled.
Disney acquired Lucasfilm, and along with it the Star Wars franchise, in 2012 for $4 Billion. So it is not impossible for elements in the "Star Wars" universe to appear in the game. Does this mean that we will get to see Sora, Donald, and Goofy fighting droids alongside the Ewoks and Wookies on Endor's Forest moon? Better yet, will we see Sora fighting enemies with a lightsaber keyblade?
VentureBeat reports that series creator Tetsura Nomura has previously said that the worlds of Star Wars or Marvel may not appear in the games due to complications of copyrights. But perhaps, to quote Darth Vader, the Force was too strong with this one.
"Kingdom Hearts IV" along with the mobile game "Kingdom Hearts Missing Link" were announced on April 10 as part of the 20th Anniversary celebration of the "Kingdom Hearts" games. The new adventure will be called "The Lost Master Arc," and will be set in Quadratum, a world that closely resembles modern-day Shibuya in Tokyo, Japan. Although the trailer was developed using Unreal Engine 4, the actual game will run on Unreal Engine 5.
The first installment of "Kingdom Hearts" was released in 2002 for Sony PlayStation 2. The last installment, "Kingdom Hearts III," was released in 2019. It received a rating of 8.7/10 on IGN.com. More than five million copies were sold in the first two weeks after its release, making it the fastest-selling title of the franchise.
