Battlefield 4 News: Naval Strike DLC's General Release Date Delayed

General Release Date for Battlefield 4's Naval Strike DLC Pushed Back to April 15

Originally set for arrival on April 8, the general release date for Battlefield 4's Naval Strike DLC has been inexplicably delayed by a week.

The news came via tweet from the official Battlefield Twitter account, with an announcement reading: "Naval Strike will be available on April 15 for all non-Premium members."

A link labeled as "learn more" followed the announcement, but only led to the DLC's basic information page, while an official explanation to explain the new date was notably absent.

Despite several random delays, Naval Strike released on most platforms late last month for Premium players.

The DLC offers four all-new multiplayer maps set in the South China Sea: Lost Islands, Nansha Strike, Wave Breaker & Operation Mortar. More details on the maps here.

Naval Strike also brings in five new weapons, the new amphibious hovercraft vehicle, and two additional gadgets - 3GL (3 grenade launcher) attachment for the Assault class, and the Anti-Heli Mine; an aircraft disabling projectile for the Engineer class. Finally, it includes a new game mode, "Carrier Assault," a re-imagination of Battlefield 2142's Titan Mode. More on that here.

Two more DLC packs are scheduled for a release this summer - Dragon's Teeth and Final Stand. Information for Dragon's Teeth is already starting to creep out, and rumors are in the air regarding potential map names and details.
