Xbox and Twitch have announced a team-up that will make it way easier to stream your gameplay straight from your console.
According to TechRadar, the two companies have now enabled gameplay streaming straight from the Xbox dashboard-a feature that was introduced way back in 2014, though it hasn't been supported for a while. The aforementioned streaming feature was called the "Snap" functionality, but it got updated five years ago.
Xbox owners could no longer stream to Twitch without using the official Twitch app when that update came.
But with the recent announcement on Xbox Wire, that changes. The blog post details how you can stream your gameplay from your console's dashboard-whether it's a last-gen Xbox One or the current-gen Xbox Series X/S. Here's what you need to do:
- Go to "Capture and Share" of the guide
- Pick "Live Streaming"
- Link your Twitch account by logging in. Do this by scanning the QR code that flashes on the screen using your phone or going to the URL on a PC or mobile device.
- Click the "Go live now" button after linking your Twitch account
Once you click the "Go live" button, you'll need to set your stream title, then connect your headset and webcam (if you have one). Aside from that, Xbox also allows users to tweak their stream settings, like managing game/mic audio volume and the stream's resolution and bitrate.
Aside from merely allowing players to broadcast their games on Twitch, Xbox also introduces a pause screen that will allow people to switch to different games while on stream, according to ScreenRant. The pause screen will show up live on screen if you're not in a game.

Should You Start Streaming Your Gameplay On Your Xbox?
Game streaming has become a phenomenon in recent times. Streaming platforms like Twitch are making full-fledged content creators out of previously ordinary gamers, mainly due to just how easy it is to broadcast your gaming sessions online for the whole world to see.
But despite the massive popularity of game streaming, should you do it? At the end of the day, it's your decision: but the massive pros can likely help beginners decide. For one, do things right as a Twitch streamer and you'll be making an actual career out of playing video games all day-one where you can get paid more money than you've ever dreamed of.
Of course, the career of a full-time Twitch streamer isn't something you build in one day, as it will likely take years before you even gain a considerable following. All of this is possible because of the newer, more powerful hardware driving current-generation gaming systems like the Xbox Series X/S and even the last-gen Xbox One. Not only will you be able to enjoy your games, but others can watch you and enjoy it with you as you build a loyal fanbase.
