Durability Test For Nintendo Switch
Even though there's no indication of a crack for the Nintendo Switch screen, it's always not advisable to throw it or drop it on the ground or any hard surface. Most importantly, do not soak it under the water since its electronic parts could be affected.
On Reddit, the subreddit r/NintendoSwitch discussed how durable Nintendo's handheld console is. The original poster said that he's worried about the condition of his Switch after dropping it.
As a result, he decided to create a thread for that because it made him worried about the future regarding the console's durability.
According to one Redditor, his Switch had been dropped a couple of times. When the console fell off a chair, he immediately fixed the broken JoyCon, which later brought the drifting issue to his Switch.
Apparently, he sold it and decided to buy an upgraded version. To his surprise, it was dropped again, but it did not suffer from any damage, unlike his previous Switch.
Another person wrote that his Switch had been working since he purchased it during the official launch. However, he advised that people should not resort to plugging it into the water or a cliff.
In a 2017 YouTube clip, Khristian Flohr, an experiment involved dropping a V2 switch from 1,000 feet. He attached a string to the console and allowed his drone to carry it as it moved higher.
He released the Switch to begin the drop test when it had already reached the thousand-feet point. Interestingly, the Switch managed to survive, but its Blue Joycon had been removed as a result.
The content creator tested if it would work. To his delight, it functioned as a normal Switch. There were also no screen cracks during the experiment.
