New 'Cyberpunk 2077' Mod Brings Vehicle Combat That Was Missing From The Main Game

'Cyberpunk 2077' Vehicle Combat Mod Brings A Notably Absent Feature Back To The Game

A "Cyberpunk 2077" mod just brought what could be one of the biggest missing features in the main game: vehicle combat.

WCCFTech reports that the aforementioned mod now allows players to use their weapons while riding melee and ranged vehicles. This includes all the available cars and motorcycles in the game.

Aside from that, it also brings car chases-another feature absent from the main game aside from a few story-driven instances (i.e. the starting car chase and shootout against scavs after completing the first main mission), as well as the ability to use inhalers and injectors.

The mod brings these car chases by reworking the game's police system. Instead of spawning from behind the player whenever a cop or civilian is killed, enemies are called a backup. They will arrive in vehicles and add a star to V's wanted level.

Attacking any cops or civilians will no longer trigger stars. The higher the wanted level is, the tougher enemies arrive and give chase. If you reach 4 stars, MaxTac (Night City's version of the SWAT) will come to the scene and present an even greater challenge.

The mod is now available on Nexus Mods for download and installation. Here is a video featuring the mod in action:

However, it's not really something created from scratch, as one might assume. Reportedly, "Cyberpunk 2077" already had the code that allowed players to use their weapons while driving. The code for this feature was disabled for some reason, which might hint that CD Projekt Red could re-enable it in a future big update.

But whether that update comes or not, this mod will be enough to make "Cyberpunk 2077" an even better game than the vanilla version.

How Mods Are Basically Saving 'Cyberpunk 2077'

To say that "Cyberpunk 2077" is one of the most disastrous game launches ever is an understatement. While the game ran relatively well on PC, it was an absolute mess on consoles, forcing CD Projekt Red to do some insanely difficult damage control.

The game is in a far better state for over a year since its release but is still missing a lot of key features. This is where modders took over and basically "fixed" the game on their own.

PCGamesN shares a list of the best "Cyberpunk 2077" mods out there, and it includes a veritable list of extra features, graphical updates that rival next-gen, as well as some much-needed gameplay fixes.

One of these mods is called Better Vehicle Handling (available on Nexus), which does what its name implies: improves the handling of all vehicles in the game. All players know that the cars in "Cyberpunk" are impossible to drive without hitting somebody or something.

Another is Breach Protocol Autohacker, which automates the Breach Protocol feature and allows players to get the best outcome for every puzzle. There are far more "Cyberpunk 2077" mods than these two, and they all bring next-level polish for the trouble RPG-something that will make it worth another playthrough.
