Problematic bugs and glitches continue to pile up in Call of Duty: Vanguard. This time, a glitch was seen in its Search & Destroy game mode that caused the game to crash.
This came after Sledgehammer Games, the developers of the shooting game, rolled out a patch update that fixed a bug within the game mode that causes players to hear an audio cue after someone plants or defuses a bomb.
The glitch might not just affect the game itself but also the dynamic of this year's Call of Duty League (CDL) that kicked off yesterday.

A Glitch that will Affect CDL
The glitch first appeared in Call of Duty: Vanguard's Private Matches after the February 4 Patch Update rolled out to fix the issue within Search & Destroy.

According to Gamespot, the patch update made the "Silent Plant" option work properly for those matches, especially in a competitive setting. Because of this fix, players can no longer hear the audio cues during a Search & Destroy match.
However, after the fix was made, the game crash glitch then appeared in Search & Destroy. According to Dexerto, several players noticed this, saying that the game would crash when the setting was off, and a player planted or defused a bomb was shot.
Because of the newly-discovered glitch, they are concerned if this would affect the ongoing Call of Duty League, especially since Search & Destroy is one of the competitive league's game modes in their matches. The other two are Hardpoint and Control.
The glitch might also affect the strategy of each of the teams in Call of Duty League as it might force them to play the game mode with the settings enabled.
If that is the case, according to GGRecon, it might jeopardize the competitive nature of Search & Destroy during matches while making the plant and defuse functions of the game mode useless.
Several community members have come up with several solutions to make Search & Destroy playable even if the glitch is present.
In a Twitter post, Alan "Bricetacular" Brice, one of the casters of the league, said that teams are not allowed to shoot those that are defusing a bomb. Other players also suggest that they can play the matches on an older patch of the game, which has the audio cue bug.
Sledgehammer Games realized that glitch and decided that they do measures. According to a post on their Twitter page, they have investigated the problem and deployed a backend fix to address it.
With it, Search & Destroy Private Matches can now properly function even if the "Silent Plant" option is enabled or not.
Despite the last-minute fix that the developers made, players, including spectators of Call of Duty League, are worried that it might not fix the problem completely or there might be another bug or glitch appearing while the matches are still ongoing.
