In Grand Thief Auto Online, players are given an opportunity to pursue different careers while traversing its open-world setting and completing its in-game missions.

These "additional muscle" can help their employers avoid any unwanted attention, like those who wanted to attack them out of the blue, while earning profit as hired hands that can execute any delicate affairs.
They can hire them through the services offered by SecuroServ private security corporation, or they can be one that can be hired by other players in the game.

How to Hire a Bodyguard
In order to hire a Bodyguard in Grand Theft Auto Online, they must first become a VIP. To do this, according to a post in Rockstar Games' website, they need to have a minimum balance of at least GTA$1 Million, which they will use as capital.
Once they have fulfilled the said pre-requisite, according to Attack of the Fanboy, they must open the Interaction Menu in order to access the "SecuroServ" option. After pressing the said option, they will choose the "Register as a VIP" option.
While registering themselves as a VIP, they need to keep in mind that it will last for four hours during Freemode, and there can be a maximum of 6 VIPs in a session during the said game mode at any time.
After becoming a VIP, they will go back to the "SecuroServ" option in the Interaction menu, then scroll down the list until they will see the "Hire Bodyguards" option.
Once they pressed the option, they will begin choosing those who wanted to be their bodyguard, or bodyguards. They can hire up to 3 Bodyguards at a time.
How to Become a Bodyguard
Aside from hiring a bodyguard, players can offer the same services to others in Grand Theft Auto Online.
To do this, according to VG247.com, they need to access the same "SecuroServ" option in the Interaction menu.
This time, instead of "Register as a VIP," they will select the "Looking for Work" option.
Then, they will toggle this one in order to make their services available to anyone who are in need of a helping hand in the game.
Perks and Benefits
Once hired as someone's bodyguard, they will earn $5,000 per minutes, regardless of how long they have been in the service for, while the VIPs will be receiving 100% of their Bodyguards' winning in Freemode, including participation bonuses that received in Freemode Events.
The Bodyguards will also earn a 100 RP bonus when in the vicinity of their VIP, as well as a small stat increase for up to two levels, an accelerated health regeneration, which can be useful in other game modes such as the Executive Deathmatch.
They will also receive an additional RP bonus for collecting and delivering a VIP Limo, as well as they will have proximity spawning near their VIP employers.
