For those that love Community, the show's constant shout-outs to pop culture of the '80s and '90s have been a treat to watch over the show's five seasons (well, four of them anyway).
So it's going to be quite the spectacle for viewers of the show when on April 3, G.I. Jeff will take on the classic G.I. Joe cartoons of the '80s with a special animation-themed episode (complete with moral lessons!).
This won't be the first alternative medium episode, either. For those new to the show, Season 2's Abed's Uncontrollable Christmas was a fantastic homage to Christmas classics like Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town with its entirely claymation style.
Season 3's Foosball and Nocturnal Vigilantism gave us some Dragon Ball Z-esque foosball action in an adorable Shirley and Jeff bonding episode. Also in Season 3, Digital Estate Planning showed us what would be like to fight through an 8-bit video game to win a bunch of moist towelette estate money (and also inspired a real-life video game). And finally, last season's Intro to Felt Surrogacy gave us a Muppets-esque look at the Greendale crew as they attempt to work through their issues (as well as the last full episode that Chevy Chase recorded for the show).
Next Thursday's G.I. Jeff should continue the tradition of fantastic Community animation, but if you're like us and want to watch the below preview video over and over until then, I don't blame you.
