The "Uncharted" developers have finally unveiled the release date for their upcoming game with a new cinematic trailer. "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy" is set to debut this Summer on Aug. 22 and will be launching as a PS4 exclusive. In the meantime, "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" has been price reduced in North America.
"Uncharted" Series Gets First Standalone Title
The "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy" is already set to hit the market as the first-ever stand-alone title from the series. Moreover, it is expected that the game will take 10 hours to complete. In addition, Naughty Dog also noted that gamers who preorder the game will also be receiving "Jak and Daxter: the Precursor Legacy" for free, Gameranx reported.
Preorders at participating retailers are expected to receive a free digital copy of the game. "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy" is set to take place 12 months after the events of the "Uncharted 4." Hence, with Shoreline crumbling, Nadine is left with no work. This will lead to the partnership of the two as they search for a priceless relic--the Tusk of Ganesh. It should be noted that the first standalone "Uncharted" title is expected to come with a $39.99 USD price tag at launch.
Sony Rolls Back Price of Hit Titles
In other news, Sony has announced the "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" at a discounted price of $39.99 USD or $49.99 CAD. Take note that the new price is live on the PS Store. Moreover, physical retailers in the US are also selling it at the discounted price as well.
"Uncharted 4" has already sold around 8.7 million copies of the game since launching in the previous year. On the other hand, "The Phantom Pain" shipped 6 million copies as of January 2016, PlayStation Lifestyle reported. Previously, Sony also dropped the price of "The Last Guardian" to $39.99 USD.
