New ‘Injustice 2’ Trailer Highlights Captain Cold

“Injustice 2” is one of the most anticipated fighting titles of the year. The battle between the heroes and villains of the DC Universe has thousands of people captivated in anticipation. Even though the game’s release date is nearing, this does not mean Nether Realms do not have a few surprises left. Here is the newest character introduced to the series.

GameRant announces a new character reveal for “Injustice 2”. This time, the trailer released by Nether Realms introduces the character of Captain Cold. Captain Cold is a villain from the Flash comic book series. He utilizes the power of his cold-based weapons to wreak havoc upon the world. Within the game, he seems to be a hybrid between long distance and close combat play. Much like Sub-Zero from the “Mortal Combat” franchise, Captain Cold can freeze enemies from afar, granting a free hit on the adversary. Besides that, he can erect ice structures to defend himself from direct assault and can also create small ice platforms on which to stand. His special move surrounds the enemy in a blizzard, where he gets a few freezes shots pumped into him, after which a giant ice platform is brought down on him.

According to Polygon, Captain Cold was just a small part of a four character reveal under the motto “It's good to be bad”. Together with the icy villain come some of the biggest names in DC franchise. Gorilla Grodd, Scarecrow and Bane are also added to the roster. Gorilla Grodd and Bane will be primarily melee focused characters, where Scarecrow will rely on a giant hook to catch enemies from afar. The visual style and gameplay presentation of the characters show a lot of care to detail and personality, so it will be interesting to see what else Nether Realm have prepared for their supporters.

On the official “Injustice 2” site, Nether Realm have shared the fourth part in the “Shattered Alliances” trailer series. This one reveals Gorilla Grodd’s plans for domination over the human world. To achieve his goal, he is building his own team of super-villains, among which are Deadshot, Cheetah and Cat Woman. Bruce Wayne has been informed of Grodd’s plans and it comes to the remainder of the Justice League to stop him before it is too late. “Injustice 2” will be released on May 16, 2017 for PS4 and XBOX One.
