Tomorrow's gonna be a good day for all you gardeners, because that's when PopCap's Xbox exclusive shooter Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare is getting its first piece of DLC, and at no cost.
Cleverly named Garden Variety, the DLC is anything but, adding in a new game mode, new map, and three new abilities for all of the game's classes. A press release didn't offer much on the new "Chomp Town" map, but it did get into the new game mode, as well as some of the new abilities for the plants:
"The Garden Variety Pack features 24 new ability upgrades, three for each class including Sunflower's Solar Flare Beam, Chomper's Super Goop which cements zombies in place and the All-Star Zombie's Ultra Tackle. These upgrades give players even more load out options for battle in the fun-dead field."
As for the new Gnome Bomb mode, it's a nice switch, as plants and zombies have to work together to destroy reinforced gardens and graveyeards. New zombie types were also named, like the "Map Pirate Zombie who shields himself with a treasure map."
Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare dropped in February as a Xbox exclusive for the One and 360. Debuting with mostly positive reviews, it currently has a rating of 76 on aggregate score site Metacritic.
More on the DLC when it arrives tomorrow.
