Visually stunning, exciting and filled with adventure. “Horizon: Zero Dawn” is one of Guerrilla Games’ best titles and an IP, which Sony should praise and cherish. So, what is the fuss all about?
Imagine a world, where civilization has crumbled, nature has taken back what is hers and the only difference between the old days and now are the giant building in the far-away and the mechanical beasts which prey on you. There is no need to imagine, as it has already been realized within the story of “Horizon: Zero Dawn”. Enterntainment Weekly shares how exciting the game is. A giant, open world, where every single machine has its mind, preferences and behavior. Some of the rampant machines are dangerous and bloodthirsty, as others can be tamed to either be used as transportation or allies in combat.
Even though visually impressive, “Horizon: Zero Dawn” lack a lost when it comes to story building and memorable characters. CNET review shares that a lot of the side quests are, on the lest, unimaginative and repetitive. The goal of reaching the level needed for accessing the next story quest fast turns into a senseless grind, as a lot of the missions end up being either quests to free some hostages or gathers certain ingredients. For all its misses, the game makes-up with an amazing combat system.
The human AI is rather dull and disappointing, but the mechanical beasts which the player meets during the campaign are all unique between each other and offer quite the challenge. The specified character of each of these creatures means that the player will have to use different tactics to catch them, as one size does not fit all in this hunt.
Those who have decided to try Guerrilla Games’ “Horizon: Zero Dawn” may want to read up on some tips and tricks which Tech Radar has compiled for them. One of the more useful tips is to use cauldrons, corrupted zones and big dinos for faster leveling. As it was mentioned in the article, leveling can fast turn into a tedious task and this will help you achieve it much faster.
Another important tip is that you can use long grass as a natural cover to either ambush enemies or evade combat. Last, but not least, do not use just a single bow for combat. There are different bows and each of them performs better at certain tasks. Mastering your bow combat is an essential part of mastering the game itself.
“Horizon: Zero Dawn” is available on PS 4 exclusively.
