"Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation" rolled out the single player observer mode, new maps and unranked online matches. Furthermore, update v2.1 also packs AI visibility and balance adjustments as well as player requested features.
AI battle Against Itself With Settings and Maps of Choice
The "Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation" developers noted gamers' feedback to reveal the single player observer mode where the AI battles against itself. Furthermore, the v2.1 update also features unranked math where players may play a 1v1 multiplayer game automatically matched. Note that results will not affect ranking, Gameranx reported. Instead, gamers may take on the unranked match to practice new tactics or enjoy a more casual multiplayer game.
A few maps have also been added to "Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation," which includes the new medium arctic map Espana, new small desert map Rus and new terran medium map, Italia. Several balance changes to the "Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation" include Cygnus, Deneb, and Maurn whose victory points are reduced from 1,500 to 750 while Deneb's victory points were reduced to 750. Moreover, the Ceres map also added two metal deposits to one of the empty relays.
Several changes have been made to the Knife Fight, Monaco, Regulus, and Ulrich map as well. The "Ashe of the Singularity: Escalation" also came with fixes to the game such as crash fixes and connection issues when starting a matchmaker game. In terms of the UI, the main menu has also been rescaled to look clearer and better.
Expansion Gets Discount To Celebrate Update
Meanwhile, PC gamers may enjoy "Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation" with a 50 percent discount on Steam until Mar. 3 for only $19.99 USD. Note that season pass owners no longer need to pay an upgrade fee to get the expansion.
"The Ashes of Singularity: Escalation" is said to be free for season pass owners with the base game as the latter already costs $49.99. Hence, Stardock CEO Brad Wardell noted that a $20 discount may be unfair, PCGamesN reported. Wardell further mentioned that a naval units patch is currently in the works and Episode 3 DLC will add a new campaign with maps, game modes and scenarios. Watch a review of the expansion below:
