In line with the recent barrage of "Mass Effect: Andromeda" news arriving a little more frequently as its official launch date draws closer. BioWare has reportedly released the game's file sizes and their respective platforms. The information will most likely have gamers prepare their storage spaces to accommodate the highly-anticipated sci-fi RPG.
According to the developer, the game will use up at least 45GB, but not more than 60GB on the Xbox One and PS4. Meanwhile, PC gamers need to free up at least 55GB of internal storage space in order to install and run the game. The developer apparently shared the information through Twitter and also confirmed that most of their development team is busy with the day one patch. They also confirmed that it will be ready in time for the EA Access and Origin Access privilege for early access to the game, says Gamespot.
Sources have also pointed out the BioWare's "Mass Effect: Andromeda" has a larger file size compared to some notable titles with expansive open-world gameplay. It was noted that "The Witcher 3" required a little over 50GB, while "Fallout 4" needed a little lower than 30GB. Fans have speculated that based on the sci-fi RPG's file size, the game could offer a more massive world for players to explore. Although, it has been a trend that newer games have released with increased storage requirements compared to older titles.
Newer games are reportedly larger due to their improved graphics and environment sizes, which are most likely intended for the enjoyable immersion of players. Even though the developer claimed that "Andromeda" is not an open-world RPG, it might be the sheer number of locations that gamers can explore as well as the characters that they can interact with, says Game Rant.
BioWare has not yet released the exact file size of "Mass Effect: Andromeda" for consoles, but rather gave just a rough estimate. The game has recently gone gold, according to reports and new information continue to keep fans excited for its official launch. The game is expected to hit retailers on March 21, 2017 for the PS4, PC and Xbox One. EA Access and Origin Access members will reportedly get to play the game five days ahead of its scheduled launch date.
