The results of 2017 DICE Awards have already been revealed that "Overwatch" won "Game of The Year." It is in celebration of the 20th year of honoring the industry's top games.
It is the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS), which has organized this activity since then, called Interactive Achievements Awards (IAA). The Academy is a non-profit organization of industry professionals that is composed of members, consisting of executives from both entertainment and gaming industries as well as notable industry leaders.
The DICE Awards, which is formerly known as the Interactive Achievements Awards, are given the best video games, online entertainment, computer games, outstanding individuals and those teams that have driven the advancement of the entertainment industry. One of the awards given is the "Game of Year" of which "Overwatch" was lucky to receive such.
The game did not only received one award but has garnered 3 other awards to be exact and these are, Action Game of the Year, Outstanding Achievement in Online Gameplay and Outstanding Achievement in Game Design, PCGamesN added. Indeed, Blizzard, the game's developer has never been that proud of the game's achievement.
Each award is determined by securing ballots of Academy members and industry experts. These experts then comprise a body of accomplishments in all facets of the game craft such as art, engineering, design, performance, animation, and production. Interestingly, "Uncharted 4: A Theif's End" also received four awards and these are Adventure Game of The Year, Outstanding Technical Achievement, Outstanding Achievement in Story and Outstanding Achievement in Animation, PcGamer reports.
