“Red Dead Redemption” is one of Rockstar’s most popular titles, and one of the most beloved games in history. It represents the story of a man who after a wild youth seeks peace, but the past catches up to him and he is forced to once again live the life he wanted to escape. Now the second part of the game is coming and this has stirred up the community with both anticipation and theory crafting.
Daily Star shares an announcement by Take-Two’s CEO Strauss Zelnick. He has confirmed that “Red Dead Redemption 2” will be released in Fall of 2017. This grand statement has brought up many questions within the gaming community. One of them is about a possible interference of the online community of “Red Dead Redemption 2” with the community of “GTA V Online”. Zelnick has said that for him, entertainment is a choice, which is not bound by quantity, one can have both titles and paly both of them, without it creating problems, or being in direct competition for the other.
The other big announcement following the official confirmation of “Red Dead Redemption 2” comes not from official sources, but from a database leak in Denuvo’s servers. According to the information pulled from them, Rockstar will use their DRM system in one of its future titles. Which title it is, has not yet been confirmed, but the nearing release of “Red Dead Redemption 2” and the fact that the Denuvo system supports only on PC, has brought people to the thought that the game will get a PC version either now, or somewhere down the road, just like “GTA IV” and “GTA V” did. At least that is as far as Gamingbolt news site has shared the community’s theories.
There are many fan theories inspired by the release of “Red Dead Redemption 2”, but they rarely become as impressive as this tie-in between “Red Dead” and “GTA” shared on Reddit and quoted by GameFaqs. According to this theory, Jack Marston, the son of John Marston the protagonist of “Red Dead Redemption” has gone on to become a famous writer. Proof of this theory has been seen in “GTA V” in Franklin’s house, where a book named “Red Dead” written by J. Marston can be found in his collection. Also, according to the same theory, the story in “Red Dead Redemption 2” will reveal the young days of father John Marston narrated by his son Jack. Even though it is just a theory, it is both intriguing and plausible. “Red Dead Redemption 2” will be released for PS 4 and XBOX One in the Fall of 2017.
