Razer Announces Upgraded "Blade" Series Laptops

Fancy gaming computer and computer accessory maker Razer has announced today (news via Polygon) a brand new set of premium gaming laptops. And by premium I mean expensive.

Razer has announced that these two new laptops will be upgrading their ultra-thin "Blade" series, offering up a higher resolution display in the base model and a stronger GPU and more RAM in the Pro model.

The Razor Blade's screen has received an improvement, making it a 14-inch 3200x1800 resolution touchscreen display that with 5.76 megapixels. All of this can be yours for starting price of $2,199 (with more hard drive space costing extra). The Razer Blade can be pre-ordered now and will ship in April.

Razer's Razer Blade Pro laptop model features a 17-inch display and improved graphics. Upgraded from a 765M, the revised model includes a Nvidia GeForce GTX 860M graphics processor. On board memory has also been doubled, equipping the Razer Blade Pro with 16GB of RAM. The laptop's on-board keyboard display been improved via a 250% contrast ratio boost over the previous iteration.

On the software side, The Razer Blade Pro will ship with six programs that assist with user control and functionality through the laptop's adaptive keys and LCD keyboard display. Electronic dance music producer Afrojack has also developed a software program for the Blade Pro for producing "studio-quality music".

Pricing for The Razer Blade Pro starts at $2,299 and incrementally goes up with more HDD space. The specs for both the Razer Blade and the Razer Blade Pro are included below.
