To come up with these numbers, 2.9 million units were needed to be shipped in the first three months of 2017. Even though these numbers of consoles were not sold through customers but consoles delivered to retailers.
The best fiscal year that Sony ever had in the history of the "Playstation 4", the Polygon said. This is because of high revenue and sold consoles more than in any quarter since November 2013, the launching of the system. On its fourth year of availability, "Playstation 4" sold almost 60 million units worldwide compare to the 80 million "Playstation 3" units sold worldwide, which was seven years after its initial launch.
Before "Playstation 4's" lifecycle is over, more than 100 million PS4 units will be sold worldwide as predicted by the analyst. "Playstation 4" have gone multiple iterations done by Sony, the console gone Pro, which features more powerful hardware but first with a slimmer model. The strong performance of the software was one of the factors why its sales increases, besides the fact that it has a cheaper price.
