It seems Team17 and Playtonic Games aim to deliver an enjoyable and interactive adventure game. Their most recent trailer reveals a lengthy preview of the games Capital Cashino level.
The latest gameplay video apparently follows the recent announcement that the game has finished development. In the video, the gameplay flaunts a new casino-inspired level complete with neon lights, slot machines, structures made out of cards, gold statues and more. The game's protagonists will also journey into other worlds to collect items to further their adventures, according to Siliconera.
The Captial Cashino footage for "Yooka-Laylee" also reveals other gameplay mechanics such as the various missions players can choose from. Completing these missions apparently, rewards gamers with collectibles. The seemingly open-world level features many smaller tasks that are based on casino-themed activities. Players will be asked to collect cards or play slot machines and these activities can reportedly be undertaken in any order depending on the user.
Various articles have compared the game with "Banjo-Kazooie," a game that was released for the Nintendo 64 in 1998. The recent gameplay footage featured the character's ability to transfer into a helicopter, an option that reminds gamers of the Nintendo 64 title's main characters, who were reportedly able to transform into various objects and animals. Other sources have also teased that the game might be third installment of the Nintendo platformer.
"Yooka-Laylee" achieved its Kickstarter goal in less than one hour and broke through $2.4 million in crowd-funding. IGN shared the 13-minute video highlight the Capital Cashino level. According to Game Rant, the game has been called as one the best indie games displayed during the E3 2016 show. The game is expected to launch for the PC, PS4, Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch on April 11, 2017.
