"BattleCry" was reported to be Bethesda's first solo project that has reportedly received less than positive news over the past years. The publisher named a new development team called BattleCry Studios to handle its production. The game was supposed to showcase a beta test during "E3 2015," but it never made it through. Since then, there have been speculations about layoffs and the game being cancelled.
Unfortunately, recent findings have revealed information that supports the rumors. David Dobert, QA analyst of the game, reportedly mentioned in his LinkedIn profile that the title has been cancelled. However, a screenshot was supposedly taken before the comment was removed from his profile page. On his profile under experience, Dobert had described his work to be a "Senior Embedded QA Analyst on the now cancelled game," according to Twinfinite.
Additionally, the "BattleCry" official website and Twitter account has apparently been taken offline. However, sources have not confirmed the exact time and date when these happened. The removal of the game from all of Bethesda's official channels would most likely be another proof of its demise. Gamers are still waiting for an official word from the publishers in order to confirm the news.
Back in September of 2015, the game studio was noted to have experienced layoffs. Reports claim that a significant number of staff where let go by the company. The staff supposedly transferred to Arkane Studios to develop a reboot of "Prey."
Game Rant reports that the relocated developers are pushing to complete the sci-fi game before its launch date in May. Meanwhile, the remaining people worked on a multiplayer DLC for "Doom."
Until Bethesda comes out with an official announcement about the cancellation of "BattleCry," the reports are still considered speculations. Even if most sources already believe that the game has ended development, hearing the official announcement from the publisher can provide closure for some fans.
