During the E3 2016 event, crowds of gamers got to see Hideo Kojima's new project "Death Stranding." His previous games were obviously loved by his fans so the upcoming title definitely received a lot of attention. The succeeding trailer shown during "The Game Awards 2016" surprisingly included famed director Guillermo del Toro and apparently excited fans all over again.
The two previously worked together on the unfortunately cancelled "Silent Hills" project from Konami. Game Rant adds that their collaboration resulted in the P.T. demo, which was reportedly adored by fans of the survival horror series. Gamers apparently assumed that the director's appearance in the trailer meant that he has an important role in the strange game's development. However, he confirms that it is contrary to what the fans think.
In an interview with IGN, Guillermo del Toro claims that he is only "involved as a character." It might appear to players that his reunion with Hideo Kojima spells a creative role in place, But del Toro reveals that the "Metal Gear" director told him "I want you to be a character in the game." Kojima talked about his proposed role and nothing more, adds del Toro. The "Hellboy" director thinks the game is going to be great and claims that "this is entirely Kojima-san's game."
In previous reports, the latest trailer also confirms Mads Mikkelsen as one the actors cast in a special role for the enigmatic game. Del Toro talked about the meticulous steps to create a motion-captured element for the title, which included more cameras than normal close-up shots with some models. He describes the entire process as something that "allows me to a real character in the game, for sure."
Other than Guillermo del Toro and Mads Mikkelsen being cast in "Death Stranding," there appears to be very little gleaned from the trailers of the game. Gamers are reportedly following every step of its development hoping to catch some clues about Hideo Kojima's latest project. It has been confirmed that the game will use the Guerrilla Games' Decima Engine for its development.
