Infamous Second Son is everywhere leading up to its release. The big PlayStation 4 exclusive is selling well already, we saw some leaked gameplay footage, and it's ready to make a splash on the console when it drops on March 21. Sony has released a new live action TV commercial, and it looks like a lot went into this one.
The video depicts some real APCs, armed guards and a (not so real) destroyed city as the enemy fans out to find you, the player (as main character Delsin Rowe). You've clearly been destroying the city and getting into trouble with your superhuman powers, and the soldier-guard guys have had about enough.
Live action trailers always striker me as a bit odd for games, for some reason. I suppose they come off as a bit silly to me, especially when depicting supernatural events. But if Marvel can have people play super heroes in costumes at the movies, then I guess this is okay too.
The commercial is actually pretty good all things considered, presumably meant to give players an idea of the power they'd have in the game and how awesome it would be in real life. Everyone likes to feel powerful and get a chance to cause some chaos from time to time, and superhuman powers are just about the best way to make that happen.
