Indie horror game "Little Nightmares" was recently picked up by Bandai Namco. Tarsier Studios initially developed the game under a different name called "Hunger." It has been given a definite release date, which is on Apr. 28, 2017. The publisher also released a new trailer that showcases its gameplay and graphics, as well as Pre-order details and a collector's edition.
Gamers who pre-order the game digitally will receive the Upside-down teapot and Scarecrow Sack masks as in-game bonus items. These items reportedly help Six, the game's protagonist, blend in with the environment. Both digital and physical pre-orders for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One will include the game's soundtrack, says VG24/7.
Bandai Namco's "Little Nightmares" will also get a collector's edition, which is only available at GAME retail stores in the UK. It is called the "Six Edition" and includes the game, a themed cage box, a sticker board, an exclusive A3-sized poster, an Original soundtrack CD and a 10-cm Six figurine.
In an article by Gaming Bolt, the developer talks about its scary fantasy platformer. They were also relating the game to seeing the world form a child's point of view, which makes everything seem even more chilling. The goal of the main character is to escape "The Maw" while avoiding some enemies and environmental hazards. The game employs a fixed linear design in order "to create a very strong experience," according the publisher.
"The Maw," which is the game's world is described to be a place where "all the worst things in the world could be left to rot." Players will also reportedly encounter different enemies and creatures throughout the game. Without spoiling any surprises, the developer claims the friendliest characters gamers in the game are the Nomes.
Dave Mervik, from Tarsier Studios, explains that the "Little Nightmares" and its stylish graphics reflect their art director's approach. He mentions that when adults listen to a child recalling a certain event or place, the description is often exaggerated and amplified by their imagination. Bandai Namco's title will be available for the PC, Xbox One and PS4.
