The long anticipated Nintendo “Switch” console has finally been revealed. During a livestream event on Nintendo’s official YouTube channel, the specs, price and release date of the new console have been revealed.
According to data shared by Express, Nintendo’s new console “Switch” will be released on March 3rd, 2017. Its price tag is set on $299, which includes the console, a charging station, two controllers, controller bands, but sadly, no games together with it. Game titles for the Nintendo “Switch” are standardly priced at $60 and among the games catalogue are titles like “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild”, “Splatoon 2”, “The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim” and “Just Dance 2017”.
Polygon has some bad news for those of you who would want to purchase Nintendo’s new console. The supplies of Nintendo “Switch” in all major U.S. retailers have been exhausted. GameStop, Toys R Us, Best Buy and Amazon have all ran out of available units for pre-order. GameStop has announced that they are working closely with Nintendo in supplying additional units of the console. For now, the only official statement regarding the problem is that 2 million additional units will be supplied for the March 3rd release of the console. For now, the only way to supply yourself with a copy of the console is to take an offer from third parties on auction sites, where the prices reach over $400.
“Switch” is not the only one of Nintendo products, which faces shortages in the last few months. GameSpot shares news that the NES Classic console has been out of stock since November 2016. The retailer GameStop does not wish this to happen for the “Swtich” too, and that is why they have announced trying to establish a steady supply of the product. One of the biggest problems which retailers face about ordering units is that the release of the console is not in the holiday months, which makes it a tough gamble. Let’s hope that the new boom of pre-orders will change the mind of both retailers and Nintendo. Nintendo “Switch” will be released on March 3rd, Worldwide.
