After a lot of will-they-won't-they over a season pass for the hugely anticipated Titanfall, Respawn Entertainment confirmed they will in fact offer a pass for the game. Buying it will get gamers content released down the line for no additional cost, and we now know the pass will cost $24.99.
What the Season Pass gets you for that price is three Titanfall map packs that will come out over the course of the game's lifetime, but Respawn promises the map packs won't just contain new maps. They have not announced details regarding what else you'll be getting and say the rest of the content is still to be determined.
The developers let us know that buying the pass for $24.99 represents savings of $5, or 15%, on what the map packs would cost separately. Buying the season pass on one platform (Xbox One, PC, Xbox 360) does not get you the content on the others, and is exclusive to whatever system you buy it for.
That pricing for the map packs is pretty reasonable and competitive, offering a better deal than the Call of Duty map packs, which is something I'm sure Respawn looked into.
EA is now offering a Digital Deluxe Edition of Titanfall on Origin for $79.99 which includes the season pass-this is exclusive to the PC. For those interested in the season pass, pre-orders for the PC version save you $5 on Titanfall.
The pass becomes available for purchase on its own when the game is released on consoles, which is March 11 for Xbox One and March 25 for Xbox 360.
