Here's something new to keep you busy this final week of 2016. "Pokemon Sun and Moon" is holding its second Global Event, which requires Island Scan to defeat 1 million Pokemon beginning today.
Earlier this month, Polygon reported that the first ever Global Event for "Pokemon Sun and Moon" failed to reach their goal of 100 million Pokemon by December 13. In fact, players who participated in the game were only able to obtain 16.4 million Pokemon creatures.
Another Global Event is launching today, and this time, it tasks "Pokemon Sun and Moon" gamers to capture or defeat 1 million Pokemon creatures using the Island Scan. According to Gamespot, the Island Scan is a new "Pokemon Sun and Moon" feature that only becomes available to players when they reach 100 points from scanning QR codes.
The Island Scan then enables gamers to obtain Pokemon that are outside of the Alola region Pokedex. The "Pokemon Sun and Moon" Global Mission that requires Island Scan to defeat 1 million Pokemon begins today at 4:00 UTC, and will go on until January 9, 2017 at 23:59 UTC.
Earlier this month, VG24/7 reported a "Pokemon Sun and Moon" trick that can get you more Pokemon spawns. According to the report, the QR code system allows an Island Scan for every 10 codes a gamer scans. By running the Island Scan, gamers can obtain rare Pokemon.
