With 2016 coming to an end, most are waiting for the next batch of iPhone devices in 2017. The word out is that there will be three models, the iPhone 7s, 7s Plus and a third high-end model.
Most of the features are likely to come from the current iPhone 7 line with new features. As mentioned in a previous post, most were under the impression that third model would be the iPhone 8.
Seeing that the iPhone 8 is the major redesigned device, that may not be a feasible scenario. Also, seeing an iPhone 8 alongside the iPhone 7s and 7s Plus could render divided attention and affected sales figures with most opting for the high-end device.
Hence, it may be safe to say that there will be three equal iPhone 7s models coming first before the iPhone 8. As far as what the third model would be, it will reportedly be called “Ferrari”.
The iPhone 7s Ferrari model will reportedly sport a full metal design, OLED display, and an embedded button. It will also support wireless charging and an internal logic board that will be spread in two halves – connected through the aid of a ribbon cable, Neurogadget reported.
Other potential features of the iPhone 7s Ferrari model include a change in the SIM card tray. This will now be situated at the bottom part of the smartphone, done to make room for other components.
Curious among the said specs is the use of an OLED display. The shift from the traditional TFT-LCD display is believed to be saved for the iPhone 8, hence leading many to speculate that it could be the redesigned model in disguise.
Apple has not yet made any official announcement on what the iPhone 7s line would bring, meaning all this should be taken lightly for now. The Cupertino company has always released an “S” model and normally in pairs. Will it change in 2017?
