Sony announced March's Playstation Plus selections last week and first out of the gate is both Tomb Raider and Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition. Those games are for the PS3 and PS4, respectively, so no it's not the Definitive Edition of Tomb Raider. That's the regular ol' PS3 edition and doesn't include any of the next-gen bells and whistles- all it contains is one of the best games from last year.
That is, however, the defininitive edition of Dead Nation. Most Playstation owners are familiar with the game because it was one of the free titles given away by Sony a few years ago as a mea culpa after all of our credit cards information was stolen, but this new version offers a lot of improvements over the PS3 original. It will include the DLC Pack "The Road to Devastation" that features two new game modes: Arcade and Engless, as well as a brand-new Challenge mode. It will also make use of Twitch Streaming and allow people to take part in Broadcast+ mode by gifting items, limiting player speed, and spawning zombies.
Sony has also kicked off their Spring Fever sale, with lower prices on Master Reboot and Awesomenauts Assemble!, plus a crazy Need for Speed sale that sees a ton of installments going for $5 a piece, including Need for Speed Most Wanted for the Vita.
While these initiaal selections have seemingly frontloaded this month's Instant Game Collection and the rest don't have anywhere near the name recognition, there's still some amazing titles on the way. Lone Survivor, Thomas Was Alone, Monster Hunter: Freedom Unite and Unit 13 are all great in their own way, although Lone Survivor holds a special place in my heart for being one of the scariest and unique games you're likely to play. It's a good month to be a Playstation Plus subscriber, as it seems pretty much every month is.
