One of this year's most exciting announcements came during the PlayStation Experience event, when "The Last of Us Part 2" was finally announced by Naughty Dog. The highly anticipated sequel to the 2013 action-adventure video game was met warmly by fans and critics of the highly accclaimed Naughty Dog title.
Naughty Dog continues to keep mum on the issue, however, refusing to hint at any release date on the upcoming sequel. What we can count on, however, is "Blindspot" star Ashley Johnson, who is lending her image to Ellie for "The Last of Us Part 2." She recently took to Twitter to show everyone that she's hard at work developing the character for the upcoming game.
According to PlayStation Lifestyle, "Blindspot" star Ashley Johnson takes to Twitter to show BTS photo of Ellie in "The Last of Us Part 2." The photo shows the actress holding a knife, which may imply that she's training to be a fighter in the upcoming sequel of the game. There are infinite possibilities, but seeing that she's armed, it's most likely that she is fighting for her life in the sequel.
Entertainment Weekly reports that fans of "The Last of Us Part 2" should expect a "story worth telling," as per creative director Neil Druckmann. The new reveal trailer shows an older Ellie, which means that time has indeed passed since the ending of "The Last of Us" in 2013. Fans may also get to see the cliffhanger in "The Last of Us" resolved in "The Last of Us Part 2."
"The Last of Us" was released by Naughty Dog to PlayStation 3 on June 14, 2013. Since then, it won several Game of the Year awards and rose to become a critically acclaimed endeavor from the studio. Fasn and critics alike clamored for a sequel, which this year was confirmed during the PlayStation Experience. Fans will have to wait and see if there will be any VR support for "The Last of Us Part 2."
