A new Samsung device is expected to launch as the company's thinnest laptop yet. The upcoming Samsung Notebook 9 is said to be the most lightweight laptop available, getting a lot of fans excited for its release.
Samsung will be bringing new and innovative laptops to the mix, which are said to utilize Intel's 7th generation Kaby Lake processors. The Samsung Notebook 9 will boast stellar aesthetics, including a curved chassis that improves the overall design of the product line. The change will make the Samsung Notebook 9 the thinnest and lightest Samsung laptop yet.
The new Samsung Notebook 9 is said to have two variants, a 13-inch model and a 15-inch model. The 13-inch variant is expected to weigh at 1.8 lbs while the 15-inch variant will weigh at 2lbs. In addition, both models will include slim bezels, allowing for edge-to-edge display. The smaller model will use the Core i5 and Core i7 processors and the larger variant will use the i7 Kaby Lake CPU.
According to reports, Samsung's Notebook 9 will also have improved storage and memory. The larger variant can have up to 8GB of DDR4 dual channel memory as well as 256GB of storage space. However, both will Full FUll HD resolution screens, which will have a brightness of 350 nits. The device also allows for 178 degree viewing angles and a 95% sRGB color.
As for audio, the speakers of the new Samsung Notebook 9 will have 1.5W. It also boasts of other media support, such as a 720p camera. The ports available for the device are two USB 3.0 ports and a single USB Type-C port. An HDMI and microSD slot will also be available for use. The device is also set to have an improved battery life, reaching up to 12 hours.
However, there has yet to be any news on when the new Samsung Notebook 9 will release. Some speculate that they may be launched during the annual Las Vegas Technology tradeshow happening Jan. 5, 2017. Unfortunately, no confirmation has been made regarding the matter.
