It can be remembered that current iPads that can still be found and are available to the market are iPad mini 2, iPad mini 4, iPad Air 2 and the most current one and is by far the best and expensive among the line-up. Ipad mini 2 has been launched last November 2013 on which is still currently on sale.

However, iPad Air 3 hasn't been introduced yet according to some latest reports Apple is in the middle of redesigning the look for its tablet. It is also worthy of note that the tech industry was waiting for the company to debut the latest installment in the series this October but to no avail, instead the company introduced a brand-new line, the iPad Pro.
Moreover, there are reports that suggest the features of iPad Air 3. In fact, GameNGuide's previous report said that the device will be a 7000-series of aluminum body. It will also come with an Apple Pencil support. It will offer a thinner design compared to its precursor. It will also have a Smart Connector and may have a 10.9 inch screen. It is also claimed that iPad Air 3 would be introduced along with iPad Mini 5 in March 2017.
But interestingly according to MacRumors' report, Tim Cook, Executive Producer of Apple, Inc., said that Apple will not abandon the Air line in spite the development of other models. Until then we are not sure on when will the iPad Air 3 be introduced to the public yet we can only hold to Tim Cook's statement that it will not abandon iPad Air 3.
