The original Bayonetta was one game that happened to pass by me when it first released four years back, but the Devil May Cry style caught my attention, and the game's concept of a witch wearing a skin tight leather outfit that's actually made from the titular character's hair was...unique to say the least. But judging from a new piece of footage from the most recent Nintendo Direct, it seems a Sarah Palin looking conjurer is just the tip of the iceberg. Bayonetta 2 looks more over the top than ever, and it's since been revealed that the witch won't be flying solo in her next Wii U exclusive adventure.
Keep your eyes glued to the screen at about the halfway point, and you'll notice a little kid, clad in some kind of sleeveless hooded sweatshirt that looks like a refugee from a Will Smith video circa 1992. In other words, perfectly at home in Bayonetta's topsy turvy world. Exactly who this kid is is unknown, so we'll have to glean what we can from the footage, but it looks like gamers will get a chance to play as him when Bayonetta 2 releases later this year.
Soon after his debut, the tyke can be seen flipping and spinning over sky high obstacles, and chucking what looks like charged cards Gambit style. It also seems as though Bayonetta will be adding the role of babysitter to her resume, as she'll need the whippersnapper along on her adventure, in order to gain access to the hellish world of Inferno. But what and who the duo will encounter on their journey remains to be seen. Check out the clip below.
Bayonetta 2 was announced during an episode of Nintendo Direct last September. Like the previous game, it will be a hack n' slash title, but will feature a multiplayer mode, and new hairdos and outfits for the titular heroine. A spin-off is a possibility, but it will more than likely be the final game in the series.
