While he's never explicitly stated it outright, Kojima's preference for Sony consoles over others has been pretty well documented, especially lately as the MGS guru tweeted last month that he would prefer for people to play Ground Zeroes on PlayStation 4 over any other systems. Earlier today, Kojima was at it again on Twitter, teasing an idea that would cement his PlayStation preference.
It began with Kojima sharing a number of pictures from Famitsu of the MGS themed PSP and PlayStation 3 Sony had released in years past. The pictures were followed by this ominous tweet: "[SONY] × [PS4] × [MGS GZ] collaboration initiative is in progress."

So what kind of collaboration could it be - a Ground Zeroes themed PlayStation 4? A special edition of the game exclusive to the platform? Maybe some kind of a bundle? It's anyone's guess really, as Kojima is keeping his lips shut. He did at least promise "more information at a later date." With the game set to release in a little over a month's time, that information should be coming soon.
One half of what makes up the big picture of Metal Gear Solid V, Ground Zeroes acts as a prologue to The Phantom Pain, taking place in 1975, shortly after the events of Peace Walker, but nine years before Phantom Pain. Expect it to work as something of an expanded tutorial, helping to show newcomers the ups and downs, as well as feature "Side-Op" sub-missions, and a few challenge trials with ranking and leaderboards if you're feeling competitive. The game will take place at a U.S. black site facility in Cuba dubbed Camp Omega. Fans were introduced to the camp (as well as a mysterious disfigured mess of a man) in a trailer shown during an event celebrating the 25th anniversary of the series
The ESRB recently released its rating for Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, saddling the game with an expected Mature rating, as well as a few potential spoilers. The game is expected to release on March 18.
