Niantic confirmed that "Pokémon Go" will be coming soon for Apple Watch. Though, the details of the game are not revealed yet. In September, both Apple and Niantic announced that "Pokemon Go" will be on Apple Watch before the end of this year. However, after that no announcement has been made on the release. Consequently, speculations have been made that "Pokemon Go" for Apple Watch will not come.
On Saturday, a screenshot of an email surfaced which contained a statement from the representative of Niantic Labs saying that the company has decided to stop the development of the port. Earlier in September a Keynote from Apple promised that the game will be a part of Apple Watch. Apparently, the fans are upset that the development has been stopped.
Nevertheless, now the fans can heave a sigh of relief as Niantic has stated that the email was a hoax and the "development on "Pokémon Go" continues". The Company told Tech Crunch that the project is not dead but they are pushing the release date. It said that the company will reveal more details on the product soon.
"Development on Pokémon GO continues, as it has since before the Apple announcement. We'll have more news on the product soon," Niantic stated.
The official "Pokémon Go" Twitter account also asked the fans to stay tuned and noted that "Pokémon Go" for Apple Watch will be there very soon. Meanwhile, the reason behind the delay is believed to be the slight fading of interest in "Pokemon Go", reported Fortune. After its record-breaking debut, the interest in the game has gone down a bit. However, it is still listed as one of the top ten grossing apps by App Annie.
Nevertheless, Niantic has not made it clear how much demand they are expecting to add the game in Apple Watch. Apple has not released sales numbers of Apple Watch which is reinforcing the assessment that the gadget is a flop by Apple's standard.
