Reports that "Pokemon Go" has scrapped plans for an Apple Watch App is not true. Niantic has announced that it still is collaborating with Apple for a future app.
"Pokemon Go" Apple Watch App Will Help Players See Vital Information Better Than "Pokemon Go Plus"
A previous report from 9to5Mac has allegedly divulged that Niantic has scrapped the plans. The plans, according to the source close to Niantic, insiders have revealed that the company has ceased to develop a "Pokemon Go" app for Apple Watch.
The whole concept of the app is to integrate iPhone users with actual data using the smartwatch. The Apple Watch display critical pieces of information including distances and XP levels. It will also show the possible location of nearby Pokemon. It will send alerts to "Pokemon Go" players, but they'll have to use their iPhone to capture one. It will be a better interface to the popular Pokemon Go Plus.
As with what you can do with the smartwatch, Niantic revealed that you'll be able to do a lot of things. Players will be able to collect items from PokeStops and see your collected medals. You'll also be able to see your Pokemon eggs hatch from the Apple Watch itself.
