With the holidays shifting to full gear, it hardly comes as a surprise to see retailers offering big discounts on current-gen iPads. But then again, the reason behind the price-slash could also indicate cleaning up of their inventory for storage of new models arriving soon.
And on that note, the iPad Pro 2 comes into the picture. Could this be in preparation for the much-awaited tablet sequel? The answer to that may be erratic for now though anything is possible. With no word from Apple, it may be best to keep an open mind about it for now.
Regardless, the good news is that iPad wishers can get hold of the current-gen tablets with big savings. Best Buy is offering the 12.9-inch iPad Pro 32 GB version for just $799.99, a tempting offer for the ones who have been wanting to get it in the past.
Other retailers are likely to offer big price cuts on iPads this Christmas, the best chance to snag one at a discount. But looking ahead, should this be a driving factor for most to expect an iPad Pro 2?
With nothing much to go on, the grapevine has been filled with various stuff tied up to the iPad Pro 2. That includes seeing three models (9.7-, 10.9- and 12.9-inch variants) catered to all classes. The most affordable is the 9.7-inch iPad Pro 2 with the 10.9-inch being the recommended piece for buyers.
The largest of the crop is expected to target commercial and educational groups, something mentioned in a previous post. With regards to the chipset, Apple could jack it up to an A11x chip to appease the power-hungry consumers. But this is with the understanding that Apple is ready with the SoC stock to fulfill big demands.
Other potential specs may include the iteration of the 3.5 mm jack and home button, a 12 MP dual-lens camera, Touch ID and a better Apple Pencil. All these are rumors so it would be best to take them with a grain of salt for now.
