Holiday shoppers are still on the quest to hunt for the elusive NES Classic Edition. Many consumers have braved different online promotions and even surrendered to the temptation of getting one from eBay. Nintendo continues to claim that enough stocks will reach retailers just in time for the holidays. It seems they intend to support their promise through two new retailers reported to have stocks available soon.
The first retailer to allegedly receive their share of the restocks for the NES Classic Edition is Gamestop. The retailer will be getting their restocks this weekend for both their online outlets and physical stores. A representative from the video game chain tipped customers to keep checking their website for more updates about the availability, Forbes reports. Consumers are encouraged to be vigilant and check with them over the weekend. Gamestop did not mention how many stocks will be incoming. It seems safe to say that all of their locations will get their own inventory to serve customers within their areas.
Another retailer has also confirmed their incoming stocks for the NES Classic Edition. According to Polygon, Best Buy will have limited stocks arriving next week by Tuesday. The electronics giant indicates that they will be allocating stocks for the classic console in more than 1,000 of U.S. store locations. Just like other retailers, the store will be selling the items on a first-come, first-served basis. They are encouraging customers to line up early if they want to get their hands on the system. The store will reportedly hand out tickets to customer who are lining up. Sales will be limited to one console per customer only. The retailer also added that they will have accessories available as well, from extra controllers to extension cords.
In previous reports from Gamenguide, the demand for the NES Classic Edition continues to rise as the holidays are fast approaching. Most nostalgic gamers and their loved ones want a piece of gaming history in their household, just in time before the year ends.
