The wait for Telltale Games' The Wolf Among Us has seemed interminable, the first episode 'Faith' landing last October and then... nothing. No updates, no news of any sort about the next episode 'Smoke and Mirrors' until a couple of weeks ago when it was finally revealed that it would release the first week of February. Such is the possibility when releasing a game in an episodic fashion but it's been frustrating for gamers, to say the least. But now that we're almost there they've just released these two new screens that are pretty action-packed, showing a conflict between lead character Bigby Wolf and Beast (of 'Beauty and the' fame), and an interrogation conducted by Bigby and Bluebeard.
Of course, these screens might not even occur in your game, depending on your actions in the first episode. Did you run into conflict with Beast? Who did you arrest at the end? Either way you can bet there's going to be some more tough decisions to make. The first episode was absolutely brilliant, taking the usual cinematic adventure style that Telltale is now famous for and adding detective procedural to it, allowing you to interrogate suspects and investigate crime scenes. The full season of The Wolf Among Us will have the usual five episodes, each of which will likely take you around 3-5 hours to complete.
So yes, the delay was awful but let's give Telltale the benefit of the doubt that it was to the game's benefit- by not giving it a release date they're also allowed to make sure things are perfect as can be. Let's just make sure that Episode 3 gets to us sometime in March, ok guys?
And while we're on the topic, don't forget about The Walking Dead Season 2...
