"The Walking Dead" Season 7 may bid goodbye to Sasha Williams too going into the midseason episodes. Sonequa Martin-Green recently bagged a role in "Star Trek: Discovery," which could mean bad news for her character in the zombie series.
Speculations are rife that Sonequa Martin-Green will not be in "The Walking Dead" Season 7 for long. Perhaps her character, Sasha, gets killed off soon when the series returns for its midseason episodes.
Sasha's rumored demise relates to her casting in the "Star Trek" sequel "Star Trek: Discovery." It is a normal setup to kill a character, when the actor has either landed another movie project or is due for exit. This could happen to Sonequa Martin-Green's character too in "The Walking Dead" Season 7.
Fortunately, Entertainment Weekly confirmed that the actress will continue to play Sasha in the upcoming midseason episodes. She will remain a series regular on the series.
Likewise, "Star Trek: Discovery" is said to start filming early 2017. If this is true, then it gives Green enough time to fulfil her part on the film, since it is off-season for "The Walking Dead" Season 7.
However, this news does not guarantee that she will stay long in the zombie show. It does not tell how many episodes Sonequa Martin-Green will play Sasha when "The Walking Dead" Season 7 returns from its winter finale.
Sasha's fate in the midseason of "The Walking Dead" Season 7 still worries fans, especially since the character is not really in the original comics. The series has so far shown that those not in the comics likely end up dead.
Likewise, according to TV Guide, Green's character in "The Walking Dead" Season 7 could stand in for Holly in the comics. Holly ended up dead in the comics, when she crashed open the gates to the Sanctuary. Still, it remains to be seen if Sonequa Martin-Green will exit the show to give way for "Star Trek: Discovery."
