Tesla Motors will have a strong competitor to the market, the exquisite Lucid Motors Air. With the luxurious look on both exterior and interior designs and high performance, there's no doubt that this car model will have a fighting chance of beating the competition.
Lucid Motors recently unveiled their first electric car called Lucid Motors Air in Fremont, California last Wednesday. It is a sports car sedan with high-performance and is expected to compete with Tesla Motors when it comes to high-tech specs.
It is a full-sized four-door with a modern design having thin stripes for head and tail lights. Lucid Air has complete rear seats inside that recline to 55 degrees. It will make you feel like seating in first-class airline seats since it provides comfortable legroom. The car will also have a 29-speaker audio system that with active noise cancellation.
Lucid Air will empower with twin electric motors combining 1,000 horsepower and accelerate to 60 mph in 2.5 seconds which is really fast as the company promised to their consumers. Lucid Motors Air also claimed of option with 130 kWh and 400-mile range battery which somehow compared with Tesla Model S variant, the P100D with 337-mile range. When it comes to battery, the company will use new lithium-ion battery cell in which Samsung SDI unit of Samsung Electronics developed.
On the other hand, Lucid Motors Air will have its self-driving technology. It has Level 4 that take control of the car without any involvement of the driver. However, this feature is still under approval from U.S regulators but if the plan continues, Lucid Air will bring the most high-tech experience that one person could ever have with an automobile.
Though the price information has not yet finalized, Lucid Motors confirmed that their first electric car will cost $100,000 and around $85,000 for the starting standard versions. The company plans to begin the Lucid Motors Air production in their new Arizona factory in 2018. For now, all we have to do is to wait for their further announcements.
