We're always eager to hear about future League of Legends characters, but as this isn't coming directly from Riot Games, take this with a grain of salt. It seems as though the developer is once again reaching into the Void for another Champion, but they've pulled out something completely different.
As a giant tentacled laser shooting eyeball, Vel'Koz is definitely not par for the course. Pics of the character popped up over on Reddit, as well as the LoL forums, and he...or she....hell, let's just go with "it," can also be spied in the background of the splash artwork of other characters like Lucian and Kassadin.
Here are its abilities:
Plasma Fission - 52 Mana - Velkoz shoots a laser that deals 175 (+0) magic damage, applies a slow of 80% that decays over 1.25 seconds, and splits at a 90 degree angle upon reactivation or upon hitting an enemy.
Void Rift - 40 Mana - Velkoz shoots an orb of energy that leaves a beam behind it that persists for 3 seconds. Units hit will take 60 (+0) Magic Damage the first time they are hit and 20 (0+) Magic Damage per second if they remain in the beam. Deals 60% damage to minions.
Tectonic Disruption - 35 Mana - After a delay, deals 70 _0+) magic damage and knocks up enemies hit for 0.75 seconds. Any enemies that are close to Vel'koz will be pushed slightly in the direction the spell was cast.
Lifeform Disintegration Ray - 100 Mana - Velkoz channels a blast of energy that follows the cursor for 2.6 seconds, dealing 300 (+0) magic damage, and slowing enemies hit by 20% for 1 second. Deals 500% base damage to minions. Can be cancelled by moving.
While the pics look legitimate, some of the character's stats have players questioning its authenticity - 500% base damage? That's a doozy. Then again, other Champions that hail from the Void feature similarly powerful abilities with devestating effects.
We'll keep you posted if Riot ever confirms this character.
