The Last of Us: Left Behind will reunite gamers with their much-loved character Ellie, in a prequel to the main story that sees where she got a bit of her know-how. This is her life before she met Joel- she's still in the quarantine zone with her little friend Rileym and still getting up to trouble. We're getting closer to release date now and more details have been unveiled, including the price, the actual date it's hitting (on a Friday, for once?), and a video showing off the beginning of the game.
There still has been no official word of a release date for the much-anticpated DLC but someone seems to have accidentally posted an ad on the US Playstation Store that spoils it. As you can see by this photo posted at NeoGAF the add-on will hit on February 14th, 2014- Valentine's Day. Bummer. It will cost $14.99 and include a dynamic theme and a comic. There's already a Dark Horse comic that's a prequel to this content so it will be interesting to see what else is included in this pack.
Voice actor Ashley Johnson recently spoke to the Playstation Blog about reprising her role and offered up a few tidbits about the character. "You kind of get to meet the real her," Johnson says. "She's in the quarantine zone prior to the events of The Last of Us - it's her and her best friend Riley - what they do and how they live their lives in this world. You'll definitely see a more playful side to Ellie and get to know her a bit better. You're going to see a lot of different sides to the character that you definitely didn't see in The Last of Us. I'm excited for people to experience it!"
But we can only bet how dark it will be! During the course of the main game Ellie reveals that she was bitten while with her friend Riley so there's a pretty good bet that we'll experience it. As for Riley, though, she doesn't show up at all in the main game- that might not mean that she's instantly doomed here but we'll definitely be seeing how Ellie grew up so damn fast.
IGN was just gifted with the first minute of footage from the game. If you like you can see how things start off in Left Behind via the video below.
