The winter hiatus has arrived and "Supernatural" is not airing any new episode this week. Fans will have to wait as "Supernatural" Season 12, Episode 9 is not set to telecast on Dec. 15, 2016.

When Will "Supernatural" Season 12, Episode 9 Air?
Episode 9 of "Supernatural" Season 12 is titled "First Blood" and is scheduled to air on Jan. 26, 2017 on The CW Network.
The midseason finale showcased Sam, Dean, Castiel and Crowley go after Lucifer who acquired the President of United States' body. Sam and Dean successfully saved the President from Lucifer, but towards the end of the episode, they were arrested by the FBI for attempting to kill the President. The episode was missing one character - Mary Winchester.
Showrunner Andrew Dabb talked to Entertainment Weekly about Mary's return in the second half of the season.
Dabb stated that Mary returns in "Supernatural" Season 12, Episode 9 with a greater sense of purpose.
"When she comes back into our story, which she'll come back most strongly in episode 9, it's going to be someone with a lot more of a sense of purpose," Dabb said.
He added that in episode 9, she becomes more proactive.
"She's got the lay of the land. She understands the world a little bit more. She understands her sons a little bit more. Starting in episode 9, she becomes a much more proactive character in our world. She's not going to be necessarily living in the bunker with Sam and Dean but she's going to be more of a player in our show."
