Netflix will revive an iconic film once again and this time, the network decided to make it as a television series. Though Neil Patrick Harris revealed that "A Series of Unfortunate Events" will be "super faithful to the books," many thinks that it will be much darker than the film and to Daniel Handler a.k.a. Lemony Snicket book.

We saw how Jim Carrey pulled off a Count Olaf madness in the film adaptation of "A Series of Unfortunate Events" and now, it's Neil Patrick Harris' turn to give his new version of the villainous character known for his nasty looking, ambitious attitude who will do everything to get the fortune of Baudelaire children.
In Netflix "A Series of Unfortunate Events", the new Violet, Klaus, and Sunny will be portrayed by Malina Weissman, Louis Haynes, and Presley Smith. They will be joined by veteran actors and actresses like Patrick Warburton as Lemony Snicket, the author, Joan Cusack as Justice Strauss, Aasif Mandvi as Uncle Monty, K Todd. Freeman as Atty. Poe and Alfre Woodard as Aunt Josephine.
Plot
Neil Patrick Harris revealed that "A Series of Unfortunate Events" TV series might be closer to how the books are written. In his interview with Collider, the actor that the tone of the show will be like the tone in the novels of Lemony Snicket. The series will be "shockingly dark."
If you haven't read the "A Series of Unfortunate Events" book or watched the film, the story will revolve around the Baudelaire kids namely Violet, the eldest daughter, Klaus, the bookworm boy, and Sunny, a strange but smart baby.They will be under Count Olaf's care, however, the "care" we're talking about means cooking food for his nasty looking friends, working for him, cleaning his strange house and treating them like a trash. He will do everything to get the children's fortune and that includes making a series of unfortunate events for the kids.

Is it pure coincidence or Netflix really planned a somewhat creepy date for the fans? "A Series of Unfortunate Events" will be release on Friday, January 13th..yes "Friday the 13th."
