"Saturday Night Live" guest host for Nov. 17 Casey Affleck and musical guest Chance The Rapper have something up their sleeve as seen through their promo video for the show's final episode for 2016. To get into the holiday spirit, Affleck and Chance have some big plans for the Manhattan Christmas tree.
"I don't think we thought this through," Casey exclaims as they try to top the tree with a star using a very small ladder. The optimistic Chance then whips up a two-rung ladder and said, "You just gotta believe." "Believe in what?" Casey asks. "Christmas," Chance replies.
Casey Affleck, who definitely does not need the star power of his brother, Ben Affleck, has been receiving wide acclaim for his role in "Manchester By The Sea." Affleck starred as a man who takes sole guardianship of his free-spirited nephew after the death of his brother. The film also stars Michelle Williams as his ex wife and Lucas Hedges as his nephew.
"Manchester By The Sea" is currently enjoying a 97 percent Fresh rating at RottenTomatoes. Affleck also won Best Supporting actor in 2010 for his breakthrough role in "Gone Baby Gone". "Manchester By The Sea" is written and directed by Kenneth Lonergan (You can Count On Me).
Fresh out of his history making Grammy nomination for his album "Coloring Book, " Chance The Rapper, whose album was solely available through streaming, also wants his fans to choose his setlist for the Dec 17 show. 'I've been trying to perform EVERY song from Coloring Book on television once," he wrote on social media. "I've done 5 so far. What do you want to see me do on #SNL?."
This will be Chance's second appearance as musical guest in the show. "Saturday Night Live" is on it's 42nd season and will be in mid-season hiatus until January 2017. What do you want to see him perform on Saturday's episode? Please let us know in the comments section below.
