The story for "Star Wars: Episode 8" may revolve around Rey becoming a Jedi. This is what Daisy Ridley subtly hinted in a recent interview about the sequel.
"Star Wars: Episode 8" might focus on Rey's preparation to become a Jedi, under the tutelage of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). Daisy Ridley, who plays Rey, hinted that the story in the still-untitled sequel centers on "I."
"I" could mean several things, but simply it refers to a single person. Ridley said that single letter already tells a lot in terms of "Star Wars: Episode VIII" spoilers. Is she referring to her character, Rey, as being the focus of the film?
"'I' sums up so many things. It's powerful. It's life. I've actually given you a big spoiler!" Ridley told Empire Online, when asked for any "Star Wars: Episode 8" spoilers.
In the same interview, Ridley revealed that she has seen a sneak peek at the trailer for "Star Wars: Episode 8." Film director Rian Johnson was so excited to show it to her. However, the actress admitted that she does not know when the full trailer comes out. She supposed that it arrives after "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" comes out in theaters in December.
Daisy Ridley certainly revealed a lot with that single word spoiler for "Star Wars: Episode 8." It links to previous speculations that the film will revolve around Rey and her path to become a Jedi. The sequel will reportedly reveal her true lineage, that she is a child of The Force, much like Anakin Skywalker.
Likewise, recent "Star Wars: Episode 8" spoilers teased that the title for the film is linked to Rey's lineage. The sequel is supposedly called "Star Wars: Force of Destiny," which further fuels speculation that Rey and her destiny as a Jedi is the focus in the story.
