"Blindspot" Season 2 will reveal the identity of Sandstorm's new mole. Recent spoilers for the midseason teased that this intel will disguise himself or herself as an innocent person. Could Sandstorm's new mole be Zapata or Patterson?
Is agent Zapata Sandstorm's new mole?
Tasha Zapata (Audrey Esparza) has her flaws as an FBI agent. The past two seasons of the NBC series showed both sides to her character. Season 1 saw Zapata betray Jane. She told Carter details about Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) in exchange for cash. At that moment, Zapata was vulnerable and Carter manipulated her.
Likewise, Zapata betrayed Mayfair. She sold her out to her ex-boyfriend, Assistant U.S. Attorney Matthew Weitz (Aaron Abrams), in exchange for his silence about her gambling addiction.
On the good side, Tasha Zapata is a loyal friend. She protected Reade (Rob Brown) in "Blindspot" Season 2, following the death of Coach Jones.
However, when it comes to personal matters, Zapata will likely choose to protect herself first. She can be easily manipulated, which can be cause for worry. What if Sandstorm will bribe her with cash in exchange for FBI intel? She already did this with Carter, so she can easily do it again. This gives room for speculation that she could be a likely candidate as Sandstorm's new mole in "Blindspot" Season 2.
Is Patterson Sandstorm's new mole in "Blindspot" Season 2?
According to Spoilers Guide, Sandstorm will have a new mole in "Blindspot" Season 2. He or she will be disguised as someone innocent, so no one would really suspect him or her to be a mole. Patterson definitely fits this description.
So far, in "Blindspot" Season 2 and Season 1, Patterson seems to be the only FBI agent who is fully dedicated to her job. She has no flaws, except maybe being too trusting on everyone (including to Dr. Borden).
However, the synopsis for the midseason premiere of "Blindspot" Season 2 revealed that Patterson goes missing. The team still does not know where she is. Could it be that she has gone into hiding too, just like Sandstorm?
