‘Rick And Morty’ Season 3 Air Date, News & Update: Dan Harmon Lashes Out At Trolls, Calls Them ‘Gross Children’ Adult Swim Announcement Expected?

"Rick and Morty" creator Dan Harmon recently hit back at trolls clamoring for the release of "Rick and Morty" season 3. Fans of the adult animated sci-fi sitcom have been waiting for new episodes of their favorite show for over a year. With 2016 drawing to a close, many have become impatient -- and very vocal -- about their hankering for more Rick and Morty.

Recently, the demand for "Rick and Morty" season 3 turned personal when a "Rick and Morty" fan responded to a tweet by Harmon. The Twitter user wrote, "[S]omeone take away Harmon's [T]witter until he finishes season 3." Incensed, the "Rick and Morty" creator retweeted the post and questioned the trolls' understanding of TV and animation. "Can one of you gross children lay out in a flowchart how it is that you think TV, animation, the internet, society and/or anything works," Harmon wrote.

This exchange was followed over the weekend by a Twitter rant, in which Harmon started off with very Rick-esque sarcasm. "I mean, you should really be telling me to get back to work when I'm NOT tweeting, since that's when I'm probably just straight up drinking," he tweeted. He followed this up with several more tweets shutting down the trolls who have been telling him to get back to work on "Rick and Morty" season 3. "Here's a list of ideal times to tell me what to do: 1. Never, you can [G]oogle that. 2. In 1992, when I was your useless a-- age," he began.

"3. When you're paying me or doing anything I respect 4. When I'm not on Twitter 5. Before you revealed that if you're in charge WE'RE F--D," the "Rick and Morty" season 3 producer wrote. "6. After some alternate version of the past where, I don't know, there were more vitamins and less lead in your parents' prom night tacos," he added.

Meanwhile, "Rick and Morty" co-creator Justin Roiland has also responded to fans' calls for the release of "Rick and Morty" season 3. On Thursday, Dec. 8, he tweeted in Morty's voice: "Nobody ever asks me when season three is coming. I've never been asked even once. I guess everybody is just patiently waiting?"

Adult Swim has yet to announce the official release date for "Rick and Morty" season 3. This is despite Harmon's statement from earlier this year that the new season will premiere before 2016 ends. The year is almost over but, tellingly, no details or teasers about the new installment have been released.
